KrovaCoin blocks are produced by staking, not mining. There’s no ongoing coin issuance from staking, either – new KROV was created exactly once, at genesis. Staking is purely how the chain reaches consensus and how the already-fixed supply gets distributed.

Requirements

  • Minimum stake: 100 KROV in a single, mature UTXO.
  • Maturity: 600 confirmations before a coin is eligible to stake.
  • Block time: targeted at 60 seconds.

A wallet with an unlocked, unspent, mature UTXO of at least 100 KROV is automatically eligible to be selected to produce the next block, weighted by the amount staked – more stake means a proportionally higher chance of staking any given block, not a guarantee.

Where staking rewards come from

Two sources, and only two:

  1. Transaction fees in the blocks you stake.
  2. The Staking Rewards Pool: a genesis allocation of 25.2B KROV (35% of supply) that pays out to that period’s stakers on a fixed, consensus-enforced schedule – roughly daily, pro-rata by blocks staked in the period. The full 20-year declining schedule is on the Transparency page and in the Whitepaper. No block that violates this schedule is valid; every full node rejects it.

There is no other source. Staking never creates new KROV.

Checking your staking status

krova-cli getstakingstatus

Reports whether the wallet is actively staking, how many stakeable UTXOs it has, and diagnostics from its last stake attempt.
